The second Ph.D. Day in Management

The second Ph.D. Day in Management, organized by the TechTalent-Lab of the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, was held on July 7. The event had 93 registrations and 48 attendees from 23 different universities—a great success for a second edition.

The second Ph.D. Day in Management's topic was bibliometric analysis in the field of Management. The event had two keynotes: the first one by Dr. Sasa Batistic (Tilburg University) and the second one by Dr. Monica Santana (Universidad Pablo Olavide). A round table followed these keynotes, where we discussed the difficulties of publishing bibliometric analyses in top journals. Our colleague Dr. Eva Gallardo-Gallardo facilitated the round table. Three journal editors participated with their comments and tips: Dr. Joaquin Alegre (Universitat de València), Dr. Matej Černe (University of Ljubljana), and Dr. Jordi Trullen (ESADE-Ramon Llull University).

In the afternoon, nine Ph.D. student presentations were evaluated by a panel of experts formed by Dr. Estaban Lafuente (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), Dr. Juan A. Marín (Universitat Politècnica de València), Dr. Imma Ribas-Vila (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya), and Dr. Jose M Sallan (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya).

There was also a mini-session where our colleague Dr. Vicenc Fernandez compared different software for bibliometric analysis.

After the results obtained and the excellent reception, the TechTalent-Lab has already begun to design the third Ph.D. Day in Management.
